It sounds like you have a second-hand Mac that is MDM-managed by a large organization, and/or that is currently Activation Locked.


If you want the Mac to be released from MDM management, you must ask the company, school, etc. who installed the MDM management to release the Mac, and hope they agree. To remove Activation Lock, you must provide the credentials the machine is asking for. Since you say that the Mac is MDM-managed, I'm going to guess that if it is asking for credentials, it is asking for those of someone other than you.
