i am able to install apps but when i try to update an app it requires me to put my password and its for a different apple account i dont have any access to or know the password can someone help pls

That app was downloaded with a different Apple ID, so you will not be able to update it without providing those credentials. As Niel suggested, deleting and downloading again will work, but you will lose any in-app purchases from the previous Apple ID and also any data stored on the device will be deleted.
