When I ask how to uninstall Malware Bytes, I'm told to open the app and go to the Help menu; however, my account is deactivated so I can't get to the Help menu -- only a "pay and sign up again menu." How do I get rid of this?

Drag it to the trash or for a more thorough cleaning process use an app like AppCleaner which will remove most or all hidden files as well.
I tried dragging the app to the trash, but it's still there and appears on the menu next to Time Machine

To keep your Mac running optimally, make sure NOT to install any antivirus or security products. They are completely unnecessary on your Mac.
If you mean it is in the dock? Then control click and use the remove from dock.
