i couldnt help but notice that my trackpad is making a clicking noise again and it infuriates me. i cant seem to find the option for silent clicking in the settings anymore either its just gone.

Yes, it's been removed.
Below is the terminal command to mute the trackpad. If this does not mute it for you, then it more than likely has been completely nuked for the m-series.
defaults write -g com.apple.trackpad.clickclickmode 0
I can’t confirm right now if the silent option has been removed as I’m not at my Mac, but you might try disabling the haptic feature of the trackpad.
If that doesn’t do the trick, have you considered enabling “tap to click”?
