if you are really running 10.14 Mojave, it may be time to think even harder about getting new Mac. see what the Apple store says for cost of repairs.

Unless you are editing videos or doing wire-frame models or CAD, you may be able to step down a step in capability, and still have a new machine like a MacBook Air run rings around your old computer.

Be sure to get MORE than 8GB RAM, the point at which MacOS Ventura or later starts to slow WAY down from lack of RAM.
