I’m able to access the change password option for my Apple ID, but it requires me to enter my previous password, and I don’t know what it is. Is there any way to get around this? I cannot update my iPhone without the password, it’s extremely frustrating.

So the problem appears to be that you don’t have a trusted device AND don’t know your Apple Account password.
Is that an accurate characterization ?

Ahh … you’re using the website … but from a phone. (Your phone ???)
Can you not change it from within Settings as described in the 1st section of the linked article ?
Do you not have any signed-in trusted devices ?
