Unexpected automatically connecting to bluetooth devices

My iPhone 16 Pro, iPad mini 7 (A17) and other Apple devices are automatically connecting to nearby bluetooth devices like external speakers (JBL Flip 5 or JBL Clip 5) and taking control over it even if other iPhone (in example other family member) is currently using it. Is it possible to not connect particular bluetooth device automatically when iPhone / iPad is nearby or every time I enter bluetooth connection selection settings? It's really annoying. Don't want to unpair and nair again every time I want to use this device - it's solution but ridiculous.

P.S.

JBL devices bluetooth settings or JBL app doesn't provide this option on its side.

It makes sense somehow but still… annoying. It should work as WiFi. You can choose if connect automatically or not to selected devices. That’s it.

If it comes to disconnecting from all devices. It doesn’t work for me as I don’t want to disconnect from other devices at this moment (I can be connected to other speaker or earphones). I just don’t want to connect automatically to another one in range and take over control / hijack... sounds like basic need but seems Bluetooth standard (really? It’s not iPhone?) is not fulfilling it.
