I have an Apple SE and a Fitbit 6. I've been wearing both while I learn how to use the Apple Watch. I have noticed every day the number of my steps could be 500 or more less on the Apple Watch. Or 1/2 mile or more different. Does anyone know why or how to verify which is correct?

The number of steps is mainly calculated by the free movement of your watch arm. If you carry a bag, push a stroller, or walk a dog on a leash, for example, your watch will register less steps.

When I had a Fitbit I found that it would count steps while driving in a car or sometimes while riding a bicycle
They count bumps as steps at time.
Thank you for this info! I have not calibrated my watch. I didn't even know there was such a thing. But I did wonder if the difference may have had something to do with my stride. I'm going to calibrate now and I'm sure that will solve this dilemma! Thanks again!
