How do I recover deleted Notes on iPad without iCloud or backup?

I have an elderly friend who asked me to recover previous Notes entries that are critical to him on an iPad Original. There are no entries showing within Notes - somehow, all were apparently deleted, and there doesn't appear to be a Recently Deleted folder. He was not syncing up Notes to iCloud, and he also hasn't been making backups. Is there any software for undeleting files? Any suggestions as to what to try? Thank you

Sorry, but you're out of luck...

If you don't have a backup - and the files are not visible within the device - any deletions will be unrecoverable.

The first generation iPad is long ago fully obsolete. All 32-bit Apps have been retired and removed from the Apple App Store; available 64-bit Apps are fundamentally incompatible with 32-bit architecture devices. Consequently, you will only have access to Apps that remain installed on the iPad itself.
