iMessage iCloud Sync not working on Mac

For the past couple of months I have been running into a syncing issue with my iMessages on Mac. Syncing from my iPhone 14 Pro would cause a notification on Mac but it wouldn’t update the read status. Some messages would come through others wouldn’t. Forcing sync on both the iPhone end and the Mac end didn’t solve anything. I even wiped the plist and library directories on Mac and resigned in to iMessage. No luck. On iPhone the sync status shows a date of over a year and a half ago but when pressing sync now it doesn’t update that metadata. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
