How can I recover missing Photos from MacBook Air?

I know that my pictures are very precious to me, and so I have copies on my phone, on my computer, in Time Machine backups, and on separate external drives. Have you made backups of your pictures to an external drive or flash drive? Did you make backups to your computer?

If you have not made backups, then you can check your account at iCloud.com. If iCloud Photos was turned on in your phone, then pictures you took with your phone might be there. Other pictures that didn't come from your phone's camera may be there, but that depends on how they arrived at your phone.

If you didn't have iCloud Photos engaged on your phone, but you did have iCloud backup turned on, there there may be backup files in the Data Recovery section at iCloud.com. As far as I know, you need an iPhone to access those backups, and they last at most 30 days.
