Mac os x hide-seek feature: dragging edge of desktop makes folders and files "hidden" on MacBook (v2)

Re: Dragging edge of desktop makes folders an… - Apple Community

I have the same behavior on my Apple MacBook M1 Max 32 GB on sequoia 15.1.1 (already present on Sonoma). If I click from an edge (left or right) and drag the cursor (as for a selection), I hide the desktop elements under this "new" layer. It's quite annoying because if I let go of the cursor, I have to find the invisible edge of this mask.

Is there a way to disable this behavior?

I contacted Apple support, but they didn't seem to understand my question.

Just to add, like Barney in the post you linked, I have never seen that behavior in Sequoia or Sonoma.

Boot into Safe Mode. If it doesn't happen in Safe Mode It has to be caused by a third-party app.
