Are there any known issues with the iOS 18.2 or 18.3 updates on 12Pro in the U.S.?

I’m currently running iOS 17.7 on a 12pro I upgraded to in September 2024 because my old phone was overheating. I was definitely not going to update to 18.0 after seeing so many negative comments, but now:

(1) I haven’t been able to get incoming Yahoo and Hotmail emails in the Mail app since Oct. 1, 2024;

(2) The notes field in the Contacts app glitches, (especially in Yahoo contacts) causing formatted notes to display as one continuous string of characters;

(3) The Notes app caused 100 Gmail notes to create over 10,000 emails in Gmail, and 204 Yahoo notes turned into over 18,000 emails in Yahoo…it’s like the Notes app created an email for every keystroke in the email client;

(4) The 12pro is still overheating, especially when I’m watching YouTube videos, using WhatsApp, Waze, or having more than 2 or 3 apps open;

(5) Battery health has dropped to 99% in 3 months. Is that normal?

Will any of these major problems to me get corrected if I update to 18.3?

Are there other known issues (i.e., not able to make calls, CarPlay issues, etc.) with 18.3 on a 12pro?

I need the same size phone. Am I better off if I upgrade to 14pro or 16pro?

Thank you in advance for answering any of these questions.

Was your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

I have been updating my devices ever since I bought my first device in 2009. iPhone 3Gs, 4S, 5, 6, SE (1st Gen), 7, 8 and iPhone 12 Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone 13, Macbook Air 2019, MacBook Pro 16"

I never had any issues with any iOS, iPadOS, or macOS updates to date.

I would personally recommend everyone update their devices instead of listening to rumors from people who may not have kept their devices free from any spurious software.

iOS / iPadOS devices cannot be hacked or infected with Virus / Malware / Spyware if it is updated to the latest iOS/iPadOS unless you have intentionally downloaded spurious software or unauthorized apps directly from the internet and installed them on your device or/and have Jailbroken

iOS updates generally aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. Issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

This seems purely coincidental so please check the Setting on your device.

No, my phone is not jailbroken. I generally wait until the 3rd to the 5th iOS update…giving time to work out the kinks…before I update. I don’t recall this many updates to an iOS this frequently within 3 months of rollout. Which means they’re finding a lot of problems with 18.

I see you don’t have a 12pro and I assume you’re on 18.3 but, can you please take a look at the specific apps I’m having issues with — Mail, Notes, Contacts — and try to replicate them or offer any real solutions? Thanks

No update is perfect. We believe all updates attempt to try to improve performance but, more often than not, an update improvement in one function, can cause another function to fail. We just have to improve what we can and decide what we’re willing to live with.

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.
