Wait it Out:

After the reset, if you are told to wait a bit (i.e. 24 hours), then just let the device sit somewhere that is out of harm's way(i.e. out of direct sunlight and away from others). Then, proceed from there. Elsewise, you may be locked out, if you fiddle with it quite a bit.
