Question

I am using a MacBook Air Catalina version 10.15.

I face the following issues:-

Google Chrome takes a while to open the first time and after closing.
Experience distorted picture horizontally occasionally on the screen. After a few seconds the system reboots.
It takes some time to operate apps on Microsoft office.
Occasionally the screen hangs.
My laptop is connected to a 24 inch screen. At times the 24 inch screen blanks out.

Please guide me on how to address these issues.

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store. It sounds like a hardware problem.

Given how old that machine is, it may be time to seriously consider replacing it.

Agree with KiltedTim; sounds like a hardware issue.

On the software side, if that MBA is a mid-2013 model or newer then it can run an OS upgrade newer than Catalina. You might consider giving that a shot.

Otherwise, I think your MBA wants to retire. And you should let it.
