Sequoia 15.3 disconnecting from internet

Mac mini M1 updated yesterday to Sequoia 15.3. Keeps randomly dropping WiFi connection. Plus will not close email when shutting down. I have to physically quit the application before os will shut down. All applications are slow and I only use internet and maybe a spreadsheet. 15.3 is better 15.1 but has not completely repaired all the damage done.

I actually ended up hard wiring my connection for now. It worked for a little while and then went right back to the same behavior. As for the DHCP not being enabled, that is not something I experienced here, I am getting an IP, the connection is simply not stable, as in here is an example of a ping to my DNS server.

I just went nuclear on the WiFi settings on my M1 MacBook Pro.

12. Reset system configuration files

If none of the above solutions work, deleting the System Configuration files can resolve deep-seated network issues.

  1. Open a Finder and go here: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/
  2. Delete the following files (where applicable):
    • com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
    • com.apple.wifi.message-tracer.plist
    • com.apple.network.identification.plist
    • com.apple.network.eapolclient.configuration.plist
    • NetworkInterfaces.plist
    • preferences.plist

Reboot and reconnect to your WiFi.

So far so good but time will tell. I will update if anything changes but I do still feel the latest 15.3 update is an issue and something there needs to be addressed.

Same exact issue on my iMac. Updated to 15.3.1 yesterday, which by itself was a super slow and glitchy process. Then, I had a virtual job interview today and the call dropped twice requiring me to reschedule the meeting. Both my hardwired connection and Wi-Fi were broken. The only temporary fix I found was disabling Wi-Fi, unplugging and plugging back in my hardwired connection, but it would still drop after a few minutes. So embarrassing and infuriating. At one point, even checking software updates resulted in a message that said something like "can't connect to Apple servers." I replaced all my Windows devices with Mac products for greater reliability and this is my thanks. :-(

Hi im been experienced this since the update. i have posted the solution on other thread.

im using Mac Mini M1 and recently updated the os into 15.3.1 then the wifi start reconnecting.

i have resseted all the routers from internet provider, renew dhcp for my mesh wifi and change the UTP cables.

restarting,

Im using Xiaomi mesh system AC1200 and its been good before update.

but now i find the solution for now :

first, to troubleshoot make sure your wifi is not auto join,.

if the disconnecting problem happened, now you know that you're randomly out of wifi connection.

Next, join back the wifi, and click on three dot, > NETWORK SETTING

for private wi-fi address section, choose ROTATING instead of Fixed.

and click OK.

check again, and keep the auto join wifi unchecked for a while.

let me know if its working. i almost want to go and buy a new mesh router..luckily i still found the solution.

@operian if you don’t mind sharing some more details, What type of Wi-Fi do you have at home? Make/model of your router or access points. Same for work if you know it or can get it? That might help me narrow down the issue we’re all experiencing. (Full exposure, I’ve been working on IT for the last 25 or so years, This is the stuff that I do.)

sequoia 15.3 not connecting to the internet, thunderbolt link to Ethernet not working/connecting and asks for password to allow “network “ to unlock “system settings “. Still no internet access for safari or mail Caldigit TS4 dock…tried to edit that post…but that was beyond Apple capabilities!
