iPhone 14 Pro Max dictation duplicate and triplicate text solution

I had to scroll a long way down in the responses so I thought I would put the solution right at the top here – just turn off your 5G Wi-Fi and go back to 2.4 and it solves the problem. Not an ideal solution of course I hope Apple fixes this somehow But it’s a big relief in the meantime.

iPhone Dictation Is anyone having trouble with iPhone dictation since the recent upgrades? Apple support tends to always place blame and responsibility on the user. We have all been using iPhone dictation for years, and although it wasn’t perfect, it was approximately 90% correct. Since the upgrade, we have all noticed significant changes. It spells things wrong. It stops dictation in the middle of sentences. It puts periods, commas, etc. in random spots. It doesn’t turn off automatically anymore. It’s an absolute mess and it is not the users fault. Apple has tried to blame it on settings, phone cases, screen protectors, and other irrelevant issues. It is clearly and undeniably related to the upgrade. Furthermore, after the upgrade, my email settings were all changed and caused problems linking with the server. A simple Google search, besides real world experience, will reflect the number of users having problem with dictation since the upgrade.

How can I stop my iPhone 16 Pro from dictating everything? Setting up my new iPhone 16 Pro, I somehow did something so it will not stop listening and taking dictation. I have Siri set up to listen for Siri or Hey, Siri. But if I open the messages app, every word the phone hears--from me or someone else or even a video) is typed into the message. This seems to happen even if I don't touch the microphone. The Messages app is unusable--I can't delete what's going in fast enough to type the message I want. And tapping the mic icon to try to get it to listen to *me* changes nothing. Same thing when I try to use maps. Every word it hears goes in. I've done internet searches and watched youtube videos . . . I guess I'm using the wrong search terms because nothing I've found works. How can I get this to stop? I only want it to take dictation when I tap the microphone icon, and not every sound from everywhere. This worked perfectly on my old phone . . . [Re-Titled by Moderator]

iphone 14 Duplicate typed wording when dictating! May 2023 on my new basic iphone 14 while using the dictation microphone function on the lower right side of the keyboard. It very frequently duplicates what I just dictated so that I have to keep going back to delete the erroneous duplicate typed wording I have to keep going back to delete the erroneous duplicate typed wording. I just switched to iphone from a galaxy and they didn't have this kind of constant error. Why is Apple ignoring this? It's been a problem for years on many of their products just read the blog.
