Apple TV Library on iMac unresponsive when importing video

Apple TV Library on iMac 24" M-1 (Sequoia 15.3) is unresponsive when trying to import mp4 video. I get the pinwheel of death and have to force quit. Other than importing the video the Apple TV Library works just fine for playback. I've restarted and shut down the computer but to to avail. I go thru the import sequence and tried dragging and dropping the video as well..but nothing seems to work.

Any help you can offer will be much appreciated.
