Does Visual Intelligence in iOS 18.3 work on the iPhone 15 Pro Max?

All videos highlighting "Visual Intelligence" are done on iPhone 16's. Some reviewers have suggested that the 15 Pro Max would also be able to use the "Visual Intelligence", but it's not working on my phone. The videos I've seen show the user activating this feature through the new "Camera" button on the lower right side of the iPhone 16, so I'm assuming that without this button, the iPhone 15 Pro Max cannot access this feature (despite the videos that suggest otherwise). Does anyone have details on a work around to activate this feature on the iPhone 15 Pro Max?

Visual Intelligence without taking a picture requires the camera control button since it appears you need to hold it to activate it, and there's no other option without using the button.

On an iPhone 15 Pro Mac and other models, if you take a picture, you can get information about it, by tapping on the (i) or other icon at the bottom of the pic.

If you take a picture of a dog, the (i) icon may turn into a dog icon, and it can identify the breed for instance.

If you take a picture of a plant it may turn into a leaf icon and identify the type of plant.

If you take a picture of a landmark or monument it may change it to a location icon and identify the landmark or monument.

If you tap on text in the camera feed (without taking a picture), and it it identifies it, a yellow frame will appear around it and a small icon will appear on the bottom right corner you can tap on to get the text cropped out, and you can then copy it, translate it, Look it up, or use it for a web search, .

After the yellow frame appears around detected text, tap

Apple is not really here. If you want them to add the option, you should use the Feedback website.

Hi Apple Team & Users,

It has the same chipset and a programmable button, hence the justification for not including it in the iOS18.3 seems inaccurate.

It's not the same button. The Camera control button / slider used for Visual Intelligence is not present on the iPhone 15 models. There's a space for it on the right ride of the iPhone below the power / sleep button but the control simply not there on iPhone 15s.

The Programable button on the left side is actually on both iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 but is not used for Visual Intelligence.

Hi Apple Team & Users,

Loving Apple intelligence!

Although, could you please provide Visual intelligence on the several month old flagship 15 pro max next update if possible.

It has the same chipset and a programmable button, hence the justification for not including it in the iOS18.3 seems inaccurate.

The hardware architecture may require a re-route for a tertiary function on a button of differing layout (if it is) but this is unquestionable a simple fix.

Thanks!
