How can I turn off sections in Reminders app?

I have been searching for a way to disable/turn off sections in Reminder. Visually it’s a big old mess. People usually know where items are located when shopping their local. Sections just makes it very difficult to see what you type, confusing because it’s SEPARATED from regular grocery list - not straightforward. I hope that Apple listens and reads and offers a way to disable this feature in an upcoming update.

Hi TheHLT,

Re: "Turn off sections in reminder : I have been searching for a way to disable/turn off sections in Reminder".

You don't have to use a Grocery list, sorted automatically into categories if that's not what you want.

ie: You can just create a "Standard" List ... Name it anything you want ... (Grocery Store Name / Date ?).

Apple Support's online article (link below) has the "how to" info. for iOS 18.

You can: Organize multiple lists in Reminders on iPhone - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"Organize multiple lists in Reminders on iPhone

In the Reminders app, you can create new lists, organize the lists into groups, and pin lists for quick access.

Note: All Reminders features described in this guide are available when you use updated reminders in iCloud. Some features aren’t available when using other accounts.

Make a new list

Go to the Reminders app on your iPhone.

Tap Lists (in the top-left corner).

Tap Add List.

Enter a name, then choose a color and symbol for the list.

Tap List Type, then choose Standard, Groceries, or Smart List. "

There are other organizing tips etc. in the above linked article.
