I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max. I went to pick it up today and the screen was black so I plugged it in and nothing happened so I let it sit on the charger for a while. I tried the volume up, volume down and hold the power button numerous times plugged in and not plugged in. Nothing has happened. I have no clue what else to try. Thoughts?

I don’t have a computer but I’ll see if I can borrow my friends to get it to force restart
I plugged it in and it says a software update is required to connect to DFU device.
So I tried to install it and it says installation failed. Does it mean it tried to update my phone but it can’t because it won’t turn on or does it mean the computer needs an update?
I also went into settings on the Mac and it says unable to check for updates even though I’m connected to Wi-Fi.

I just tried plugging it back into the computer again and it says the same thing. I had it plugged in for maybe a minute and the left side of my phone got really hot so I unplugged it……what is happening?!
