My iPhone 15 Pro Max is unresponsive and not charging

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max. I went to pick it up today and the screen was black so I plugged it in and nothing happened so I let it sit on the charger for a while. I tried the volume up, volume down and hold the power button numerous times plugged in and not plugged in. Nothing has happened. I have no clue what else to try. Thoughts?

Try reviewing the following article to connect your iPhone to a computer in Recovery Mode.

I plugged it in and it says a software update is required to connect to DFU device.

So I tried to install it and it says installation failed. Does it mean it tried to update my phone but it can’t because it won’t turn on or does it mean the computer needs an update?

I also went into settings on the Mac and it says unable to check for updates even though I’m connected to Wi-Fi.

When back in…

Update your iPhone:

user you have iOS17 installed in this. You should update your iPhone, when an option. iOS18.3 has been released within the last 72 hours. IMPORTANT: Prior to performing the update, be certain you create a backup of it; that way, you’ll have something to restore your iPhone from, should something go wrong with the update.

Updating an iPhone Using a Computer:

If it keeps requiring an update, then you should try updating (as it persistently tells you). To avoid this persistent notification on your iPhone, try updating via a computer. If you cannot use Wi-Fi, then use Ethernet.  Go Here: Update your iPhone Using a Computer - User Tip. On the computer, you would connect it through Ethernet, going directly into your router. For a Mac (or PC) that does not have Ethernet, this would be the adapter to use: Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - Apple
