Unsupported File Format - but not on all devices
I have a large number of notes in the Apple Notes app. A lot of these are "How-To" articles I've created to share with others. Each note/article is filled with text, and dozens of photos (all are my photography). Almost all of these were simply screenshots of my photos - which for storage reasons was preferred due to smaller file size instead of dragging a lot of 24MB jpegs into the notes. I should mention that there are easily 300 (maybe closer to 400) photos scattered throughout the various articles.
These notes/articles were created over the years on various devices - either my iPhone, iPad, or iMac. Screenshots would have been made on whichever device I was working on at the time. I do use iCloud for my Notes since it is pretty seamless to have them appear on all three devices.
Back in October I upgraded my iPhone 11 to the iPhone 16 Pro. That is when an issue began. When reading these individual articles on any of my three devices, I can always see each and every photo throughout all of the articles. However, when I click on an image to make it full screen size, roughly 75% of them on the iPhone say "Unsupported File Format". Once I swipe away from what should be the full screen image (but is the message instead) then I can see the image alongside the text in the article.
The odd thing is, if I look at the same images on my iPad, or iMac, and click on them to make them full screen size, I can see the images. This is only happening on my iPhone. I believe I might be missing something in my phone settings, but I'm at a loss on what it might be.
I should state here before I am asked - The iPhone is a 16 Pro. The iPad is a 12.9" Pro model, 6th generation. The iMac is a new M4 as of November... but my previous iMac (2019 model) still showed the full screen images as well. ALSO - the IOS is kept up to date on all devices (I check twice each week for updates), and the apps are kept up to date just as frequently.
Any thoughts on why I am seeing "Unsupported File Format" on 75% of these images, only on the iPhone, and only when I want to see them full screen?
