Empty subfolders in iPhone Mail

I have an iPhone 14 with iOS 18.2.1. I use Mail to access my AOL account. I have multiple subfolders under Inbox. I could see the contents of the subfolders when I had iOS 17.x.x, but that all disappeared when I upgraded to iOS 18. I tried several tricks posted on the forum, but none have helped. I deleted AOL then added it back. I got the subfolders to show up. But the subfolders are still "empty." I even tried moving an email from Inbox to a subfolder, but it didn't work.

Does anyone else access AOL from Mail? If so, what do I need to do?

Help!

They would've contacted AOL support or look at their help site to fix the issue.

I have the same issue - also use AOL with a lot of subfolders. At first, I couldn't even get the blue arrow to drop down the subfolders. If I force-close and then reopen, it will appear so I can see them, but all subfolders are empty.

My Microsoft email accounts are also having an issue - only some subfolders are populating, but AOL is impacted the most.
