iphone 16 pro: Depth setting is missing for video recording

Hi,

I have an iphone 16 pro and I know there SHOULD be a depth (f) function when I want to record a VIDEO

(I'm not talking about photos).

Why is it showing the ''f'' but it's dark and NOT working, it's not yellow colored like the other functions.

What can I do please?

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18

You’re welcome. For stills you need to be saving your images as HEIF. Then you’ll have both the styles function and depth function (f/number) when you edit in Apple Photos app. You’ll also have Styles before you shoot in Camera app.

As far as I know the depth function is only in Cinematic. I don’t edit video in Photos, but I suspect it is available. Maybe post in the Photos app community here,

Thanks Jeff,

I wish I knew that yesterday...I spend hours searching and figuring out WHY I didn't have the F funcion.

Thanks, I appreciate you replied.

While you're helping me, I have one other issue that I see people edit photos and video and when tapping the edit on a photo or video, you should also see that F function or tone styles.

However, when I open a video or photo, it's not showing me the Depth or styles.

Is that ONLY when taking cinematic videos?
