Facetime photos in landscape mode on iPhone

Hi, so I’m on a facetime call and occasionally the photos are automatically landscape mode or cropped. It’s not a wifi issue and I’m very confused. I’ve tried adjusting my phone and even with both our photos straight up sometimes the photos still come out landscape. What’s the fix to this ?

Is there a way to manually rotate the image in a Facetime call? When I use Facetime to make video calls, it seems to auto-rotate the image of the person I'm talking to. Sometimes it works well, but sometimes it seems to get confused and the image is sideways. Even if I turn my phone in my hand, the image auto-rotates to keep itself sideways. There are a few controls I can manipulate during a Facetime call, such as switching between the front and back camera, but I cannot find any setting that allows me to rotate the image. I should note that the inset image that shows me works - autorotates - properly. I tried locking the screen orientation, but I ended up with my image upside down or sideways.

No Center Stage option for auto zoom on iPad FaceTime i I am using FaceTime on my iPad with operating system 26.2.1. I am trying to disable the auto zoom and when I open the control panel I do not see center stage as an option. Can you help?
