can macOS Monterey be updated to MacOS 13 or higher?

trying to update Mac to use office 365 but doesn't support anything below macOS 13 - any help welcome

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 18

It is your Mac's hardware model (including the hardware model year and time of year) that controls whether and how far you can upgrade. Some Macs that can run Monterey can also run Ventura – and some can't.


macOS Ventura is compatible with these computers - Apple Support


Note that in the specific case of a MacBook Air, 2017 isn't good enough. You need 2018 to make the cutoff.
