Scheduled emails are not being sent when my Mac book is in clamshell mode. I use an external monitor, the Mac book is plugged in.
last night, I scheduled emails again, but left the lid open. The emails were sent as expected.
question: are there settings that allow me to leave the lid closed?
question: do I have to use a third party app like Caffeinate or Amphetamin?

Argh ... my bad. I finally figured out what the issue is: when MacOS removed the setting for scheduled shutdown and startup, I manually activated a schedule via terminal (pmset -g sched) I since forgot about it and multiple updates later, it still faithfully shut down at about 11:30
