Can’t Delete Photos on iPhone

My photos are not synced in iCloud or iTunes/Apple Music and I still cannot delete them. A lot of the ones I can’t delete are duplicated and I’m not sure why. Any idea why?

Hey there,

If your photos aren't synced to iCloud or

iTunes, but you still can't delete them, it's likely due to one of these reasons:

1. Photos Were Synced from a Computer via Finder/iTunes:

  • If photos were originally transferred using iTunes (Windows) or Finder (Mac), they cannot be deleted directly from your iPhone.

To fix that follow the instructions below ⬇️:

  1. Connect your iPhone to the same computer used to sync the photos.
  2. Open Finder (Mac) or iTunes (Windows).
  3. Go to Photos and uncheck "Sync Photos."
  4. Click Apply to remove synced photos.

2.Photos Are in a Shared Album:

If photos are part of a Shared Album, they can't be deleted unless you're the owner.

To fix that follow the instructions below ⬇️:

Go to Photos >Albums >Shared Albums and check if the photos are there.

If so, ask the album owner to delete them.
