Apple TV remote app not controlling volume again

If I shut my phone off and restart it, the interface will work for a bit but inadvertently it always resorts back to not showing volume. On the Lock Screen I can control it. This only started happening with the 18 updates. It’s so frustrating. (All of my settings are correct)

Volume control missing in iPhone remote app after update iOS 18.2.1 After the recent update to iOS 18.2.1 I can no longer control my Apple TV‘s volume using the iPhone remote app because there are no volume button icons that appear on the side anymore when using the remote app. Now when pressing the up or down buttons it only shows the phones volume not the Apple TV volume. It’s been working fine for years but immediately after the update the buttons are gone. Please tell me this isn’t permanent!

Apple TV Remote APP doesn’t control volume anymore? The app doesn’t change volume when the buttons on side of phone are pressed? It has a muted speaker in the left hand corner and when the volume buttons are pushed it only controls the volume of the ringer? The previous reply about going to settings and changing it in the “remote and devices” section of settings would be great if that was actually an option in settings.

My own iPhone’s “soft remote” hasn’t malfunctioned, so I’ve unfortunately got little else to offer.
