Upgrading from MacBook Pro to iMac for personal use and Sidecar compatibility

Hi everyone! It's about time for me to retire my 2015 macbook pro. It doesn't get used often as I have a new Macbook Pro for work and do not use for any personal things. I'm considering an iMac desktop (I have an ipad I use so mobility is not a huge concern) but am unsure if it makes sense. I really only use my laptop for when I truly need to sit down and focus on personal things or photos that I won't use my work laptop for. I'm considering a desktop mac for having a second screen at home. I do not anticipate using it for any sort of gaming or illustrator/editing appsBut, am curious if Sidecar will work with two separate apple ids. Does this even make sense? Would love to hear what input others have.

Hello there...

To use Apple Sidecar, you need a Mac running macOS Catalina (10.15) or later and an iPad with iPadOS 13 or later installed; both devices must be signed into the same Apple ID with two-factor authentication enabled.
