Confused about the gamma of Apple XDR monitors

Hi folks - I'm confused about the gamma settings of the XDR monitor on my MacBook Pro M3 Max. I'm trying to use it as a reference monitor. I'm color grading for SDR broadcast (i.e. Gamma 2.4) and have the display set to Rec.709 BT.1886, which uses Gamma 2.4. Online everyone says that all Apple Monitors use Gamma 1.96 and that I should thus be tagging my Rec.709 footage as Rec.709A, which is not Gamma 2.4. The monitor cannot be Gamma 2.4 and 1.96 simultaneously. Am I correct in assuming that information online is outdated and refers to pre XDR monitors?

Thanks in advance
