I'm looking into ugrading to OS Sequoia but have read that there have been some issues with with some users.
For instance, I've seen issues with intel based devices.
I've a 2020 27" iMac [see attched].
Advice, please do I go for the update or steer clear?

As long as you have at least 2 or more Backups that are current
Obviously having enough Empty Space
Software-wise none of the below software installed
Commercial VPNs
Third Party Security Software
Third Party Disk Cleaners / Optimizer
Memory Cleaner
This machine is configured with a SSD drive of various sizes, so should be just fine
Though so may report issue related to Intel versus Apple Silicon

Sequoia will be fine in your iMac. You should bump up the RAM to at least 16GB. You don't have to worry about a Fusion drive, they weren't available on 2020 iMacs. Hopefully you have at least a 512 GB SSD or preferably, 1 TB.
As long as you don’t rely on crapware for your livelihood or peace of mind, upgrading to any macOS is not a problem.
if you use any unique software, specially designed to interface with some sort of hardware device, then you need to test out the upgraded OS on that software to make sure it will actually still work.

I might understand some complaints from those who have a Fusion Drive
Fusion drives as we know are a combo SSD fused to a Rotational Spinner drive
Those machines function but a cost of Performance

Looking at what you recommended re upgrading my RAM I'm concerned about compatability.
I note many suggest mac sales.com/OWC but they're US-based and don't appear to ship to UK???
Crucial don't stock any RAM for my model iMac.
Are there any recommedations for suppliers in UK? Clearly I need to get fully compatible RAM

Hi, I'd like a bit more advice relating to this topic which has spun off into upgrading the RAM in my iMac.RAM with its mere 8GB.
I've ordered a couple and want some advice as to how to best position them into the two remaining slots.

You're welcome. I know Amazon carries some OWC RAM. Whether they ship to the UK I can't say.
Just checked. Amazon ships to the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
