I'm trying to set up a new Macbook Pro. I can't get past the log into apple account section. Everything freezes. I can't click on the option to leave it till later; if I try creating a new apple account it gets as far as entering my date of birth and then freezes. I've tried switching off and rebooting but the same thing happens. I can't set up.

Some senior contributors here suggest you ALWAYS SKIP the Apple account setup on a new computer, and come back later for that.
The reason is that the moment it knows your apple-account, it starts sync-ing everything on iCloud to your new computer, and won't let you do anything until that sync-ing is done.
