Google search page is dark in Safari on Macbook

I use the search bar on the safari start page and google as the search engine. When the results come back, the page url is google dot com, and the search results page is dark. My MacBook is not in dark mode, and other google pages, "my account" for example is light.

I looked for settings on the page and found settings by clicking my profile picture and scrolling down to "more settings", but I found nothing about dark mode.

How can I change the google search page back to light?

I found it on the google dot com page. I clicked the Google graphic icon at top right before the search bar. this opened the google dot com page. The I saw "Settings" at he bottom right. I clicked and saw "Dark Theme: On" in the popup menu. I clicked "on" to change it to "Off".

Voila! The page turned light!
