Error occurred during printer setup on MacBook Air

My MacBook Air (M1, 2020) regularly loses the printer. It shows as "online" until I try to print a document. It then shows as "offline" and the document panel just continue to search for the printer.I have tried all kinds of things but it continues to happen in what appears to be randomly. This time I followed some Apple blurb advice and reset the printer...and now when I go to add it back (Bonjour) I get the followiing panel...which seems to be a dead end...and now I am unable to add the printer back. Anyone have any ides or has seen this sams issue? Thanks

Thanks, but unfortunately that does not work. The message I showed appears AFTER deleting and trying to re-do adding it. Bonjour does recognize the printer (note that it shows in the greyed out panel behind the error message), but then the error message appears and there is no option other than "cancel."

I also have tried shutting off the printer and turning it back on and that does not work either. Sometimes shutting the Mac off and rebooting does allow me to connect the printer, but after some time the system "loses" it again...when I try to print it immediately goes from showing "online and idle" to "offline" and the document just goes into an endless "looking for printer" loop
