Gmail connected to contacts

Hello, so when I first had this phone I made the Gmail my high school email. After you graduate that email is deleted. Whenever I add or delete a contact it prompts me to re-enter the password. I am unable to do so because that account is deleted through Gmail. I have no way to change the Gmail and really need help! I don’t want all of my contacts to delete but I am annoyed with having to press ignore two times everytime I put a new contact in
