How to clear iMessage cache on iPad with no messages app installed?

I never used messages app in my ipad. There’s not a single message in app still it takes 2gb of space. Is there a way clear imessage cache?

iMessage is growing in storage I have just noticed that iMessage has begun to take up a lot of my storage (not that but you can notice it and it’s bugging me because I have 64 GB) I’ve deleted images off of messages and deleted old group chats but it just seems to go up?? Is there a way to reduce the storage?

iMessage shut down when trying to delete deleted messages I have deleted some messages on my iPad and when I go to click on “deleted messages” to completely remove them from my iPad, the messaging app shuts down. I have no other issues with the app until I go to delete those messages and it will not let me. This started happening after the iPadOS 17 update. I have restarted the iPad several times.

If you expand the Messages item, what do you see?
