iPadOS update 18.1.1 killed microphone.

iPad Air 4 microphone stopped working after iPadOS update 18.1.1 on all apps except camera.

The problem started with iPadOS 18.1.1. I have updated to iPadOS 18.3, which is the latest release. That did not fix the problem. I have tried all remedies except resetting settings, which I’ve read from other threads does not fix it. When using Voice Memo app, I can hear a very faint sound when I play back a recording. But the camera app is perfectly clear and loud.

As I have no idea what all remedies are or what others have done so perhaps it's time to have your device looked at by Apple. I'll provide you a link to get you started.

Apparently the microphone works since you say it still works when using the camera. What makes you believe it was v18.1.1 that affected the microphone? Why are you not using the latest release?
