How can I empty my Apple Account balance to change country/region?

Buy something more expensive than your balance and pay the rest with a credit card or if you have less store credit than the cost of a single item and cannot add a credit card to your account, contact Apple Support so they can clear it.

If your region does not have Apple Support, then you will have no option other than to add a payment method to make a purchase that will first deduct from your Apple Account and bill any remainder to your payment method if you want to keep your Apple Account.

The other option is to Factory Reset your device and create a new Apple ID. This will wipe all data on your phone and anything stored in iCloud will be lost.

After you get your balance cleared, then also review this support article for additional steps you may need to take to change your region, such as:

• Clear any subscriptions. Cancelling just prevents it from being renewed, but it will remain active until the expirations date. If it must be removed before that time, you will have to contact Apple in that case.
• Be prepared with a payment method for your new region in order to use that App Store. The bank of that payment method must reside in the new region. That is how Apple determines you are using the correct App Store.
