SMS authentication Code miss inputs autofill

When receiving websites that have sms authentication codes sent the system knows that a code has been sent and attempts to populate the code. However usually the first or second attempt fails showing that the code is incorrect. It then deletes the code from messages so you can't attempt to re-enter the code manually. I have captured the situation. This started happening on MacOS 18 and has not been resolved in 18.3 update.


what I discovered is its purposefully adding a different number at the end without my input causing the code to fail. this behavior doesn't replicate on iOS or iPadOS for any version
