iPhone not playing sound through Bluetooth headphones

If I look at the choices for sound devices in the music app, the only choice is speakers (though the bluetooth device appears in the bluetooth devices connected), so it seems to be clearly a problem of iPhone software where the phone does not communicate with itself.

I tried switching off/on both devices, forgetting the device, switching … to no avail. As it seems to be a recurring issue for which Apple seems to have no real solution, I have also read and implemented what is proposed in several posts here.

Does anyone has a solution ?

What bluetooth headphone.

My airpods have no issue on ios 18.3, so no it's not a software issue.
