Unable to sync iTunes music from Mac to iPhone

With recent update to MAC OS Safari..version 15.3. I am not able to sync my music playlists to my iPhone when I have it plugged into my Mac Book Pro. The iPhone shows up both in finder and in iTunes Music...but when I open the Sync settings window and select music...none of my music files show up in the window. I did not have this issue before this last update. Also...All my music/playlists show up just fine in the Music app on my MacBook. Anyone have the same problem? or know of a recommended fix? I like copying specific playlists to my iPhone and do not wish to have everything on iCloud.

I think I found the problem. A few days prior to this issue I used "Account.apple.com" to update my iCloud password. that at the same time updated my iTunes/Music password as well. But in my iPhone the Music account was not updated?

After playing around with Apple Music on my iPhone I got an error message that said I had 2 different accounts? anyway I logged off the older account/version of Apple Music on my iPhone and reloged in with my new password. So now everything seems to be working fine. It's weird that my iPhone did not automatically ask me to re-login? ...to Apple Music? I believed it should have picked up on that thru the iCloud change? and give me a notification when trying to play music on my iPone..but it did nothing until I tried to buy some new music on my iPhone Music app while not connected to my MacBook. then I got the 2 account notification.

Try using the option-start-Music method to explicitly reselect your Music library, normally at ~/Music/Music/Music Library.musiclibrary. Sync selections are made in Finder, with the active library, whether Music is running or not.

You might also try holding down option+cmd as you launch Music, which opens it in its safe mode and may perform some housekeeping which could help.

Thanks TT2...tried these things you mentioned and still get no music showing up in the Sync window when my iPhone is connect to my MacBook. maybe the problem is that my music library is on a server drive? and not on my MacBook or the iCloud? if so?... this was never a problem before this latest Mac OS update?

Possibly. Is that drive reconnected at start up? If it isn't available when the background process that lets Finder sync music might decide it just isn't there and won't try to sync anything that comes from that location. Sadly I don't have any deeper insight into the inner workings of Music/Finder here.
