Scam text messages received

I received several text messages stating "Apple Pay Transcations: A purchase of $224.71 has been made at the Apple Store. Contact Support at 1-855-***, if you didn't authorize this." Not 10 minutes later I received a message "Apple Approval Notice" - "We have noticed that your Apple iCloud id was recently used at "APPLE STORE-CA" for $143.92, paid by Apple Pay Pre Authorization. Also some supspicious sing in request and apple pay activation request detected. That looks like suspicious to us. In order to maintain security and privacy of your account we have placed your account on hold. If not you?... and it goes on and on.

I am assuming this is a scam. I just wanted to make others aware.
