Is it safe to run whisky app on a MacBook?

Whiskey is just a free version of Codeweaver's Crossover app. It's actually written by them.

I tried it to see if I could get an old Windows app running on my M2 mini. It did run fine, but I couldn't get it to install or recognize the required dongle driver.
