Final Cut Pro x Auto Transcribed captions occasionally appear to be at a different frame rate.

I've auto transcribed a cut of mine (25fps) and some of the captions can't be moved so that they match with the video frames - eg I can't cut them off at a shot change - they appear to be imported at a different frame rate - but it doesn't apply to all of them.

It's really frustrating as it also means that sometimes I can't have captions that change directly from one to another, because either there needs to be a subframe gap or the caption goes red or disappears entirely.

After waiting so long to get auto transcription it's a shame that it's so limited (to captions only not titles) and that it doesn't even quite work.

I am surprised by that. Captions do not really have a frame rate. They should, like everything else in the timeline (*), be moved only to begin and end at frame boundaries.

By the way, there is really no subframe gap, because there are no partial frames in video.

Could we see some screenshots that illustrate the problem as you are experiencing it?

How zoomed in are you in the timeline? You can zoom in so that individual frames are clearly identified - here, the grey area is exactly one frame:

(*) everything except audio files - these can be edited at subframe level.
