update from Monterrey to Ventura-Why Can't I?

My naïveté and stupidity and lack of computer knowledge is probably the Answer...however....

I have a MacBook Pro (15 in 2016)Intel 2.9 GHz, Quad Core i7

Bought the latest edition of TurboTax which requires Ventura. My MacBook Pro won't update to Ventura. Why? Is the answer my laptop is obsolete to newer software or programs?

Be gentle...I'm pretty illiterate....THANKS

Your computer isn't capable of Ventura or above. Try using the online version of TurboTax in a web browser.

A 2016 MacBook Pro does not support Ventura. You could try the online version of TurboTax. Otherwise you need a newer Mac.
