I have been searching for a solution to this bizarre happening on my iPhone 16 which just started, and can only find articles/solutions for predictive text. This is NOT predictive text because it is adding an entire sentence with words (and countries!) that have nothing to do with the message I am trying to type. Is this happening to anyone else and does anyone know of a solution?

I've done it a few times, sending a message and then setting the phone down without leaving the Messages app. I come back later to find that either I've recorded the last 10 minutes of me talking to my cats as an audio file or captured something as speech-to-text. I must hit the button as I set it down.
My solution is to try to remember to always lock the screen before setting down the phone.

Are you by any chance accidentally enabling speech-to-text and it's picking up things people are saying around you?
Something that happens to me at times is while I have my Apple Watch on and I'm teaching, I go to the board and begin to point at things on the screen/board and I'm talking. Siri will pick it up and all of a sudden I have this long speech sitting on the Watch in Siri waiting for me to do something with it? Or, I'll move my head away and all of a sudden I hear Siri say, "I'm sorry, I didn't get that"!
