I want to stop the fade-in Quicklook does on photos

On macOS Sequoia 15.2, when I have an image file selected in the Finder and press the spacebar to get a Quicklook preview, the image opens but then fades in over a second or two. I wish to disable this fade in and have the image displayed immediately at its full brightness. I tried enabling "Reduce motion" in the Accessibility settings, but that didn't help.

I think I figured it out. It only happens on camera raw images from my OM Systems (formerly Olympus) image files. JPEGs, PNGs, and HEICs do not exhibit this behavior. I'm guessing that the fade in has something to do with the extra processing needed to handle the large amount of data (each image file is about 20 MB).

As for Sequoia 15.3, yes, I plan to update, but I usually wait a few weeks after each macOS update is announced to see if there are any problems. I haven't heard of any so far, so it's probably time.

Thanks for your replies.

If you hold the Shift key down this fade in is a feature... the genie effect.

Try making some changes to your settings and compare your results

if no resolve— look at your Keyboard Viewer and see if that Shift key is working correctly(?)
