Resolving 'enabled to check for update' error during software upgrade on iPhone

I want to upgrade my software but is actually bringing up enabled to check for update

iPhone X can only go as far as iOS 16.7.10. No more updates for the iPhone X after that.

In other words, if you are looking for iOS 17 or iOS 18, the iPhone X is not qualified for those updates. (Actually, iOS 17 is no longer available).

Tap Settings > General > Software Udate

What does the message say?

If this is your iPhone X as stated in your tagline, you are already on iOS 16, and it cannot be updated past iOS 16.7.10. It no longer receives the latest iOS software updates. It’s about time to start looking into buying a newer iPhone that can run newer iOS software.
