iMessage not working after 18.3 update

Updated to 18.3. Using a iPhone SE 2nd gen.

With one contact only SMS is available when it used to be iMessage. This change has also affected the groups the contact is in.

Phone has had network connections reset, phone erased and restored and yes iMessages is set to MMS.

Not sure why specifically one contact has changed solely to SMS. Yes have removed and added back contact with no change from SMS

iMessage not working after updating to ios 16.6 Since the update my iMessages are not going through. It sends the message as text message and not iMessage. If I get a message from iMessage, my iMessage will work for a couple of messages and then back to the same problem!!!
